French and Indian war questions PLEASE HELP! Medal to most helpful answer!

What was going on in the English side and the French side? I'm supposed to write two reports taking both of their sides but all I know is they both were fighting. I do not know each sides motive, which side was at fault and which side was the better side, or why exactly they were fighting

Like.. okay bad wording. I know why their WAS a war, but why did they both want it and what were their individual reasons?
