OpenStudy (ellerai):

Can someone teach me how to find slope in equations?

OpenStudy (ellerai):

I am struggling on understanding how to find slopes with either using the y2-y1 equation or the slope intercept equation. All i understand is rise over run

Mehek (mehek14):

Do you mean \(\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\)?

OpenStudy (ellerai):

yes and also 'find the slope of the line whose equation is ___'

Mehek (mehek14):

Ok to use the formula, you would need 2 ordered pairs that are on the line.

OpenStudy (ellerai):

yeah

OpenStudy (ellerai):

I had a problem for homework and i tried to use the formula but i got it incorrect

Mehek (mehek14):

Can you post the problem here and let me see how you did it?

OpenStudy (ellerai):

Yeah it was to find the slope of (-3,4) and (2,-1)

OpenStudy (ellerai):

I also had this problem i did not understand: find the slope of the line whose equation is 3x + 6y = 9

Mehek (mehek14):
