A flwheel of diameter 80 cm is turning at 36 revolutions per minute. What is the speed of the belt passing around the flywheel in centimeters per minute?

OpenStudy (amyyy1):

Please explain the steps, but don't give me the answer.

|dw:1464828707287:dw| During each revolution, the point A (on the wheel) goes back to the same place, point A (as well as the belt) goes through exactly the circumference of the wheel. You probably know very well that the circumference of the wheel, C is given by C=\(2\pi r\)=\(\pi D\) where r=is radius of wheel, and D is diameter. So now you know how much the belt moves during one revolution. The wheel's RPM is 36, or 36 revolutions per minute. So how far does the belt move in one minute?
