Help, please. Just need to know if my answers are right or not ._.
Two - A) Three- C) Four- C) Five- B) Six- C) Seven- B) Eight-B) Thanks in advance! :)
@Nnesha @nincompoop @errinss @shivnadimpalli Hiii, can you guys pleae help me out here? Anything is much appreciated, dont worry.
for 2. why did you choose A)? shouldn't a polymer (made from repeating units i.e. monomers) weigh a whole multiple of the monomers?
I am just really confused now :s
@aaronq Could it be he was thinking that since the polymerization is a condensation reaction the polymer wouldn't have the same mass as the sum of the monomers due to the lose of water.
@aaronq I did some research and came across this "The break up of polyesters and polyamides (both examples of condensation polymerisation" can be carried out in aqueous solutions and can be classed as hydrolysis reactions". With this being said, two would be A.
You're right Frosty, I just wanted the user to give more thought to the options he/she chose. The rebuttal could be made easily taking biopolymers into account; with peptides for example, amino acids (monomers) vary in mass and that clearly refutes option A. Kym, for the rest of the questions, you should provide the work you've done. #3 for example needs to be worked out, it's not a knowledge-based question.
That leaves me more confused. Alright, thanks for your help :) I'll get my way 'round with the others, just need to do some more research.
