OpenStudy (talia123):

Car a traveling -80m.p.h. car b traveling at +55m.p.h., which one has the greater velocity?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

the magnitude of the velocity of car A is 80 m.p.h, whereas the magnitude of the velocity of car B is 55 m.p.h

OpenStudy (talia123):

So car A has a greater velocity?

OpenStudy (shamim):

can u tell me abt the negative velocity nd positive velocity

OpenStudy (shamim):

car A has negative velocity if car A is going towards north car B has positive velocity can u tell me the direction of car B

OpenStudy (shamim):

we need more discussion to get clearer idea

OpenStudy (shamim):

response plz

OpenStudy (plainntall):

This is a confusing question. It would be clearer if it asked which car had the greater speed or magnitude of velocity. Can we really say that a velocity in the negative direction with a greater magnitude is less than a velocity in the positive direction and a lesser magintude?
