Find LCM for 6 and 8

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Prime factorization of 6: 2 &3 Prime factorization of 8: 2 2 2

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

sorry, meant to say multiples

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

6 ---> 6, 12, 18, 24, 30 8 ----> 8, 16, 24, 32

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

the lowest one that they both have is...?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

24. Ok. The GRE review book did it way different but your way is quicker and easier.

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

yeah, it works well with smaller numbers

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

It says " the factor 2 appears three times in the prime factorization of 8, while 3 appears as only a singly factor of 6. So the LCM of 6 and 8 will be 2*2*2*3 or 24."

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Thanks so much @Vocaloid
