Use the Distributive Property to SOLVE FOR X in the image above.

Therefore, \[x+(1.5x-6) = 50 km\]
\[2.5x-6=50\]
\[2.5x=56 \]
thus x = 56/2.5 = 22.4

@manas786 posted the wrong answer anyway... firstly, it's perimeter, not area, and secondly, perimeter is 2L + 2W, not L + W.
