@vocaloid Can you just help me with this? This is all I need help with.(:

OpenStudy (liv1234):

OpenStudy (liv1234):

23. C 24. B These are my answers, but I think they're wrong..

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

let's work through them together and see if you're right

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Okay. Thank you.

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

so for the first one, we can factor out cos(theta) to get [ 2sin(theta) + sqrt(3) ] * cos(theta) = 0 which means we set cos(theta) = 0 and 2sin(theta) + sqrt(3) = 0 meaning that sin(theta) = -sqrt(3)/2 then we go to the unit circle to see which ones match

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Would that make it C? Or is that an option that can be factored out?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

for cos(theta) we get the values pi/2 and 3pi/2 for sin(theta) we get 4pi/3 and 5pi/3

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

so option A

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Ohh alright, that makes sense now. What about the other one?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

we do a quick sketch of a triangle with the point 6,8

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

the hypotenuse is 10 (using pythagorean theorem)
