OpenStudy (retireed):

What is the formula for the Area of a circle?

OpenStudy (samirahdanyel):

pi x r^2

OpenStudy (retireed):

Yes, so you have three circles with three different radiuses so you can just add them all together. Circle 1 Radius = 8 Circle 2 Radius = 8 + 4 Circle 3 Radius = 8 + 4 + 4

OpenStudy (samirahdanyel):

okayy

OpenStudy (samirahdanyel):

i got 36

OpenStudy (retireed):

I stated the response incorrectly and you did what I said... You just added the radiuses I should have said you need to take the radiuses and plug them into the Area of a circle formula for all three circles and then add all of the areas together You need to calculate the sum of the areas using the formula you provided

OpenStudy (retireed):

or r1 r2 r3 Area = pi ( 8^2 + 12^2 + 16^2)
