Help, I'll fan and medal The transformation from f to g represents a __________ stretch. f(x) = Square root of x. and g(x) = 6Square root of x. Note: Use all lowercase letters in your response.

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

any ideas?

OpenStudy (chrishogan):

y=a√x a is still the slope, except we're going off to the right since that's what a sqrt graph looks like (attached as a file), so what happens when, slope=rise/run=6/1 that means, from the original graph, starting at the vertex (0,0), you go up 6 units, and to the right 1 unit, likewise, and from that, you see whether or not the new graph is being stretched either horizontally compared to the original, or vertically

OpenStudy (hatahoooochee):

Vertical stretch?

OpenStudy (chrishogan):

there we go, for some reason my symbols weren't cooperating, and correct!

OpenStudy (hatahoooochee):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (chrishogan):

No problem. :)
