Can someone check to see if I'm correct please? C: (Choose the sentence that contains an error in the use of the commas) A) *a tiny diamond sparkled on her finger.* < the one I picked B) Haley's speech was interesting, and a pleasantly surprising hit. C) One scraggly, leafless plant say in the window. D) His long read beard fascinated the little boy. (Thank you)
This one is actually a bit confusing. Why did you choose A? I feel like A might be incorrect because I don't think a comma was needed. But I may be wrong.
I am actually thinking either B or D. B doesn't seem to wrong because there is an independent clause before the comma. And D doesn't seem to be wrong either...that is if "read" doesn't actually mean "red."
For C and D I mean misspelling errors sorry it's "sat" not "say" and "red" not "read."
D is incorrect. It should be "His long, red beard fascinated the little boy." http://www.quickanddirtytips.com/education/grammar/commas-with-adjectives
Then, @Aveline is correct. Thank you. :)
