@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

is this multiple choice? there are (at least) two integrals we can write down. one using cylindrical shells, and the other using washers

OpenStudy (tmagloire1):

no it's free response unfortunately : (

OpenStudy (tmagloire1):

well actually that gives more freedom

OpenStudy (phi):

ok, can you sketch the enclosed region ?

OpenStudy (tmagloire1):

no clue

OpenStudy (phi):

can you sketch the curves (or lines) they mention.

OpenStudy (tmagloire1):

i really have no direction withthis quesiton

OpenStudy (phi):

y= ½ x^2 is a parabola if you are doing integral calculus, they assume you know geometry, trig, algebra, etc. a parabola has a \( \cup\) shape. pick x=0, 1,2,3 and figure out the y values plot the points, and connect the dots (knowing the shape is "cup-shaped" ) y=x is a line with slope=1, and y-intercept of 0 x=3 is a vertical line at x=3

OpenStudy (tmagloire1):

oh yeah i knew that part

OpenStudy (tmagloire1):

anyone?
