Xavier sells homemade necklaces for a profit of $22 per necklace. He is considering switching to a new type of pendant that will increase his profit, as expressed by the function y = 29x, where x is the number sold and y is the amount of profit. How many more dollars will Xavier earn on each necklace if he switches to the new material? Explain how you found your answer.

@smartnerd1111

OpenStudy (smartnerd1111):

Well if x is the amount sold and y is the profit, then the original equation would be y = 22x because he originally was selling them for $22 dollars each. That means that in the equation y = 29x, 29 is the amount of profit per each necklace. From here it is:New profit - Old profit = How much more earned $29 - $22 = $7 extra earned per necklace.

ok is that the complete answer?

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

hold on!! you got that from google!

OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):

OpenStudy (smartnerd1111):

ok so to sum it up you subtract 29-22 to equal 7
