OpenStudy (superwholock221):

In the figure below, triangle ABC is similar to triangle PQR, as shown below: What is the length of side PQ? 48 24 40 18

OpenStudy (superwholock221):

OpenStudy (aveline):

QR corresponds to BC. QR is 12 units and BC is 2. It seems that the sides of the right triangle are six times longer than the sides of the left triangle...

OpenStudy (superwholock221):

ok so the pythagorean theorem would be something like 12^2 + 24^2 = the sqare root of the answer right?

OpenStudy (aveline):

You're not measuring the hypotenuse, so you don't need to use the Pythagorean theorem.

OpenStudy (superwholock221):

oh

OpenStudy (superwholock221):

so the answer would just be 24?? i just looked at the question again

OpenStudy (aveline):

Yup

OpenStudy (superwholock221):

ok i just made that more complicated than it needed to be thanks

OpenStudy (aveline):

Try not to overthink lol. ^_^

OpenStudy (superwholock221):

lol yeahhh i do that a lot
