OpenStudy (deathlynine):

What is the difference between OpenStudy and Brainly? What is the pros and cons between both websites? Medal for the best answer...

OpenStudy (deathlynine):

Just wondering.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

I would say OpenStudy has more social opportunities. You can interact more with users, and you have more options on here for something. It's hard to compare OpenStudy to Brainly, since I have only been on there once or twice.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

some things* It's something you would have to compare yourself :)

OpenStudy (mahoganie.carson):

Well every learning website is the same but different like Brainly, OpenStudy and Peer Answer. :)

pooja195 (pooja195):

\[\huge\rm~\bf~OpenStudy: \] \[\rm~Pros:\] +Most users guide the asker to their answers, that way the asker will learn the concept and be able to do well in future tests/quizzes/any assessment +Chat boxes to interact with other users (make new friends) +OpenStudy seems to be more user-friendly because we have mods that are 18+ mature (most of them) that help keep the site a safe/friendly place. +On OpenStudy, we have openstudy feedback for you to express your feelings/feedback about this site. +Latex for users who like to be creative +Rules are less strict on this site than they are on brainly (e.g: Links in questions are not allowed this means you can't screenshot a question and put the link to it in the question) =>There's prolly alot more im missing but these are just a few. \[\rm~Cons:\] -The lag -Chats give the opportunity for bullying to occur at times -spammers/trolls/bullies =>Once again there are probably alot more problems with the site however this is the gist of it \[\huge\rm~\bf~Brainly: \] \[\rm~Pros:\] +No lag +Alot more easier to use for someone who is a new user (they have all the subjects listed on top, they aren't hidden in a drop down menu like OpenStudy has) +Being able to rate an answer shows what the user thinks of their answer. (This helps when users looking for the same question go on the post and see the quality of the users question) +They have the whole site filtered to catch foul language (You can't curse when sending messages either, the message will NOT send) <-This is something OpenStudy needs rather than filtered words. +Spam filter =>This is the gist of it sure there's more \[\rm~Cons:\] -Mods that are immature. (Brainly mods range from 13-idk, but they are young as 13, many moderate content that doesn't need to be moderated) -Mods on brainly can only warn. Their ban button doesn't do much. -They don't have chats. There is barely any user interaction (except of course if you ask a question). -Users don't teach askers how to do the problem most just give the answers and call it a day -spam/trolling/bullying =>This is the gist of it sure there's more I am a user of both sites. Personally I prefer OpenStudy more because people here are alot more friendly and the site is a bit more chill than brainly. And I don't like the fact that most of their mods can't moderate. That is just my point of view on this. Hopefully I have enlightened your views on both sites :-) Welcome To OpenStudy! ~Pooja195

OpenStudy (anaise):

Well except me :) ^

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

The major difference is that on OpenStudy one learns, and on Brainly, you get answers. If you want to learn then OpenStudy is better for you. If you only want to get answers, Brainly is your go to. Learning a concept is better than getting an answer. :P A nice Chinese proverb that I heard before: Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime Also, Spam on Brainly is not allowed whatsoever. Keep spamming on Brainly and you're never coming back. And spamming Brainly is evident since they don't have closed questions and multiple answers to questions Spam on OpenStudy is hard to find and hard to clean up. Brainly moderator tools are better than OpenStudy moderator tools. Trolls on OpenStudy can stay if they're helpful enough (*cough* Abb0t *cough*). Brainly gets rid of trolls through account deletion. OpenStudy lags, Brainly doesn't. Brainly doesn't have ads. Just recently, OpenStudy was able to pay for itself and removed their ads off of the site. OpenStudy has more of a social aspect with chats. Brainly deletes users who try to use it for a different purpose other than getting/giving homework help, such as dating or socializing too much. Also, you can message how many people you ever want to on OpenStudy. But on Brainly after messaging a certain amount of people you need to answer more questions to message other people. You also have to answer like 5 questions to start messaging people. You can always message a moderator without answering questions, however If you're a moderator, then you can message the whole world ;) Brainly's moderators are more organized. Brainly moderators have to follow certain guidlines. OpenStudy moderators all have varying opinions and punishments over stuff. Just hope a nice moderator is online looking at reports when you get reported. OH THE BIGGEST WINNER OF ALL If you want to ask questions on OpenStudy, you absolutely can. As long as you do it one by one. If you want to ask questions on Brainly, then you have to start answering other people's questions to get points. And then you use those points to ask your own questions. #GoOpenStudy xD

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Summary: OpenStudy has a more chill environment. On OpenStudy you can ask as many questions as you want without having to answer other people's questions. Brainly has a strict environment. On Brainly, you need to answer other people's questions to ask more of your own questions.

OpenStudy (deathlynine):

Thank you all for answering this question. I truly wish I was able to give you all medals, but sadly OpenStudy doesn't have that option. Thank you again.

candycove (candycove):

OS > Brainly.

imqwerty (imqwerty):
