Help! I just need someone to check my answer, I'll fan and medal Use synthetic division to determine whether the number k is an upper or lower bound (as specified) for the real zeros of the function f. k = 4; f(x) = 2x3 - 2x2 - 3x - 5; Lower bound?

OpenStudy (hatahateo):

Answers: Yes MY ANSWER No

OpenStudy (supersmart1001):

If I get your question right, you do need to divide f(x) by (x-2). This goes as follows: 2 [ 5 4 -2 2 4 ] 10 28 52 108 ---------------------+ 5 14 26 54 112

OpenStudy (supersmart1001):

5 14 26 54 112 <-- remainder

OpenStudy (supersmart1001):

It seems like it's lower bound

OpenStudy (hatahateo):

So I am correct?

OpenStudy (supersmart1001):

if u chose lower bound then yes
