OpenStudy (johnndyer111):

what is the answer to -x + y = 27

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

here we have infinity solutions, since we can write this: \[y = 27 + x\] and \(x\) can be any real number

OpenStudy (mrnood):

It is generally the case that if you have more than one variable (x & y in this case) you cannot solve it from just one equation. Maybe the question wants you to find and expression for x? If that is the case then add x to each side of the equation, then subtract 27 from each side.

OpenStudy (retireed):

The answer could be the function is a line with a slope of 1 and a y-intercept at 27. The main part we are missing is what is the question.
