Which works by the Olmecs prove they had an interest in astronomy? Glyphs engraved in stone that resemble present-day images of our solar system Remains of the city of La Venta that reveal it was built in alignment with a constellation Large, elaborate monuments constructed by the Olmec who named them after celestial objects Beautiful paintings of heavenly bodies including the stars, moons, and various constellations

Thank you @binkeyboy03 Do you have any input on the question?

OpenStudy (sylph):

Ha, that actually made me laugh. Have you gotten an answer from another source yet?

OpenStudy (smallkid):

@sylph no, I haven't

OpenStudy (sylph):

What do you know about the Olmecs thus far?

OpenStudy (queenie):

it is B

OpenStudy (sylph):

Way to be helpful @queenie

OpenStudy (queenie):

sorry

OpenStudy (sylph):

The Olmecs were a very progressive presence in Africa, as they practiced a religion and astronomical sciences identical to those of Africans in the Mali region and Nigeria today. The Olmecs studied the Venus Complex in astronomy. Another group (Dogons) are well known for their tracking and mapping of the Sirius star system and their accurate results. They developed mathematics and arts. It is even believed that they discovered America thousands of years before Columbus. They contributed to our religions, political systems, and even our calendar. Sadly, though, America was founded on the genocide of its natives-- meaning we killed the vast majority of that ancient civilization. In reality, none of these are accurate. Their calendars reflected their interests.
