Medal and Fan f(x)=x^4-3x^3-5x^2+21x+22 Use the synthetic division or long division to identify ONE zero of the function.

OpenStudy (mathmate):

This is the same as the previous problem. Did you try synthetic division with x-1,x+1,x-2, x+2,x-11,x+11? Two of these will give a remainder of zero, and hence a zero. Out of the four zeroes, two are complex, so you won't find it directly with synthetic division.

OpenStudy (jjuden):

still dont get it though

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Are you able to do a synthetic division?
