OpenStudy (pphalke):

what exactly do you need assistance with

OpenStudy (daisydukeee):

I don't understand how to solve the problem.

OpenStudy (daisydukeee):

I need to put it in standard form first right?

OpenStudy (pphalke):

have you looked up inverse and how to do it

OpenStudy (daisydukeee):

Yes, you switch the x and y and solve correct?

OpenStudy (pphalke):

@welshfella can you see if you can help

OpenStudy (welshfella):

first find y in terms of x ( solve for y)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

(x - 4)^2 - 2/3 = 6y - 12 6y = ( x- 4)^2 - 2/3 + 12 y = (1/6) [ x^2 - 8x + 16 + 34/3] now multiply everything ion prentheses by 1/6 and you get the answer
