@mathmate
@mathmate i put this and it says incorrect If y=3x-1, then the given values of x will result in the pairs (0,-1) (2,5) (-1,-4).
The equation is given as y=3x-1. This means that give a value of x, you can find the corresponding value of y, or vice versa. Say, for example, the point P(x,y)=(5,?) is on the line y=3x-1. We know x=5, so to find y, we substitute x=3 in the equation: y=3(5)-1=14, hence the point (on the line) is (5,14).
oh ok i see
I suppose you did what I just posted to get the answers you posted. The pairs are correct. I cannot explain why your application says the contrary. Don't know if it's a formatting (the answer) problem, or ordering.
it says type your correct answer then press enter and i put those points in and it says incorrect @mathmate
Complete these ordered pairs for this equation. (0, ), (2, ), (-1, ) y = 3x - 1 Type the correct answer, then press Enter.
You may have to reread the instructions for entering data. Every program has different requirements. Watch out for what separates multiple items in a single answer.
@mathmate i have another question
Complete these ordered pairs for this equation. (0, ), (-1, ), (2, ) y=4
Sorry, I am a little confused with the new information. Is this still working with the same problem (using the same equation), or is this a new problem.
