@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

if j is the younger age, and the two ages are "consecutive odd numbers" any idea what the other age is ?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

i thought of setting up the equation as \(j \times (j +2) = 783\)

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

And then I got \(j^2 + 2 = 783\) but that's not correct

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

remember the distributive property

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

j(j+2) = j^2 + 2j

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Ah okay

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Thanks :)
