What role do impact craters play on Venus? Which planet is Earth most like? In what ways is this planet like Earth?

OpenStudy (dariusx):

Venus has a gravity very similar to that of Earth's. I think it's 0.9 Earth's G. Also at around 50 km of height, the atmospheric pressure becomes the same as it is in Earth. There were interesting ideas on how to colonize Venus. One was called "floating cities", which would fly at this particular height. Furthermore, the surface of Venus is extremely hot but at 50 km of height it is estimated that the temperature drops significantly to somewhere around 70 degrees of celsius.

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Colonial adventurers, you must bring your own oxygen. The atmosphere is 1 part nitrogen and 28 parts CO2. No oxygen in sight!
