im your fan

OpenStudy (donnie1999):

lol thanks

OpenStudy (donnie1999):

@phi I just don't know if I multiply or divide ?

OpenStudy (phi):

the product of two numbers means multiply them (English has lots of ways of saying the same thing)

OpenStudy (phi):

a complex multiply involves: 4 "real" multiplies and two adds you have to follow a pattern: first multiply the two "real" parts (the parts without the "i") in this problem what do you get ?

OpenStudy (donnie1999):

ok so I got 37+55i would that correct @phi

OpenStudy (phi):

I did not do the problem. I'm still working on 3*17

OpenStudy (donnie1999):

lol ok

OpenStudy (phi):

and then you do the two "imaginary" parts 2i*7i = -14 so the real part is 51 - 14 = 37 it looks like you got the real part correct.
