will someone check this? If y varies directly as x, and y = -18 as x = -2, find y for the x-value of 20. MY ANSWER:::: -2/-18=-20/x -2x=-360 -360/-2 x=180

OpenStudy (welshfella):

your second line is incorrect what is -18 *-20 ?

OpenStudy (board_man):

oh shoot. I typed in positive 20 to my calc XD

OpenStudy (welshfella):

OH hold on - its the first line It is 20 not -20.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

you got the right answer by making another mistake in line 2 - so the 2 errors cancelled each other out! lol!

OpenStudy (welshfella):

that was a lucky solution!

OpenStudy (board_man):

so the answer is actually +180? and do you know anything about transformations? I only have 3 questions left and that's what they relate to.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

i probably have time for just one...

OpenStudy (board_man):

okay. Thanks for your help though!

OpenStudy (welshfella):
