MEDAL! The table below shows the number of pencils of different colors in a box: Color of Pencil Number Purple 10 Blue 1 Yellow 6 Pink 3 Pam draws a color pencil from the box randomly without looking. What is the probability that Pam will select a yellow pencil and the coin will land tails up? 2 over 40 6 over 40 12 over 20 16 over 20

hello? anyone ?
first, what you need to do is figure out how many pencils there are in all. Then, figure out how many yellow pencils there are. then you need to figure out how many combinations there are of getting a yellow pencil AND the coin landing on heads.
@GothGirl
hey @drawwithapurpose can you explain that in simple words or just say the answer if you know it with all do respect tho
I would give you the answer but direct answers are against the CoC. But i can simplify what i said. first add up all the pencils (20) then find out how many yellow pencils there are (6). so that would give us 6 out of 20 for pencils. okay?
20-6 = 14
not quite. it would be 6/20. next we need to add the probability of pencils and coin sides to each coin. 6 yellow pencils = 12 sides of the coin (six top and six bottom). then we add the number of the bottom side to the number of pencils.
so it could be c ?
@ElisaNeedsHelp can you check on this and say what you think girl

@nincompoop
You're right! it is C :)
Omg thx!
No problem :)
C is incorrect, multiply the probabilities: 6/20 * 1/2 =
Since the chance of a coin landing tails up is 1/2
Sorry, and I suck at math. ;-;
