PLEASE HELP!! I WILL FAN AND MEDAL!!! A triangle has vertices T(3, 7), U(6, –6), and V(5, –9). The image of the triangle has vertices T"(8, 1), U"(–5, 4), and V"(–8, 3). Which transformations could have produced the image? *=the circle things in the middle T(1, –2) * ry = x ry = x * T(1, –2)

OpenStudy (sarhamby1227):

The other choices are.... T(1,-2) * R0,180(degrees) (sorry I don't have the right things to put) R0,180(degrees)*T(1,-2)

OpenStudy (sarhamby1227):

@abby02 @Cas_fangirl_14 @mathmate

OpenStudy (mathmate):

So the choices are: \(\Large T(1, –2) \circ r_{y = x}\) \(\Large r_{y = x} \circ T(1, –2) \) \(\Large T(1,-2) \circ R_{0,180^\circ}\) \(\Large R_{0,180^\circ} \circ T(1,-2)\) Are you familiar with what each choice means?

OpenStudy (sarhamby1227):

yes transformation and rotation

OpenStudy (mathmate):

T is translation, R is rotation. Are the choices the same as what you're given?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

and r is reflection.

OpenStudy (mathmate):

If they are not the same, please let me know. We won't be working with them before a while. This is geometry, we need to see a figure that we're given. Does the problem show a figure? If not , you'd need to draw one, even approximately.

OpenStudy (mathmate):

@sarhamby1227 Are you still working on this problem?

OpenStudy (sarhamby1227):

umm no sorry I failed the quiz

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Anyway, do you still want to know how this works?
