WILL FAN & MEDAL!-ALGEBRA 1 QUESTION What type of correlation does the following graph show? Is the value of the correlation coefficient most likely: -1, 1, -0.04, or 0.99.

@jigglypuff314

OpenStudy (mrs.jackskellington):

I used a correlation coefficient calculator and it said that the coefficient was -0.04. So this means that the type of correlation is negative, but is it strong or weak???

pooja195 (pooja195):

@mathmate @agent0smith do you guys know this?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Correlation coefficients close to 0 are weak. Close to 1 or -1 are strong.

OpenStudy (mrs.jackskellington):

thank you, can you help with another part to this question

OpenStudy (mathmate):

and positive correlation means the slope is positive, negative correlation for negative slope.

OpenStudy (mrs.jackskellington):

What is the value of the slope of the graph of velocity versus time between 10 and 20 minutes, and what does the slope represent?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

You'll have to estimate the slope, I'm sure you can. Use slope formula or estimate from the graph. The slope of a velocity time graph gives you acceleration.

OpenStudy (mrs.jackskellington):

ok

OpenStudy (mrs.jackskellington):

I got that the slope is 0.06. thx for everything!

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Looks reasonable.
