OpenStudy (viviancitaaa):

Which of these is an example of discrete data? A. Temperature B. Pages in a book C. Area of a room D. Distance

OpenStudy (errinss):

wow this is tough Discrete data can be numeric -- like numbers of apples -- but it can also be categorical -- like red or blue, or male or female, or good or bad.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

Discreet data cannot be split up - there is no value between 1 apple and 2 apples. But distance for example can by any value and is not discrete , but continuous data.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Discrete data is data which has a fixed set of values, which can be enumerated (if you have enough paper :-) Number of people in a room would be an example of discrete data; you can have 2 people, or 3 people, but there are no values in between.
