How does the author use satire

Satire generally is the use of irony, sarcasm, and ridicule put forth into a play or story of some sort and an author may use it to demonstrate a point that a character may make to overthrow the other character, to make mock of his/her thoughts/actions, and to plainly but subtly state ridicule as if it were the preeminence of the whole theme.
