OpenStudy (thefluffmuncher):

I'm pretty sure its 40

OpenStudy (thefluffmuncher):

is that correct?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Go to this link: http://mathbitsnotebook.com/Geometry/Circles/CRAngles.html scroll down to two secants You'll see that the angle should be (80 - 40) /2 = 20 degrees

OpenStudy (thefluffmuncher):

woops

OpenStudy (thefluffmuncher):

forgot to divide by 2

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Heck, that's one of those geometry theorems that don't come quickly to mind. Glad to help out. :-)

OpenStudy (thefluffmuncher):

do mind helping me with another one?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Okay, I'll try another one.

OpenStudy (thefluffmuncher):

i used tan is that correct

OpenStudy (thefluffmuncher):

and got 43.6

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Hmm, I might have to work that out.

OpenStudy (thefluffmuncher):

ok

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Yes, tan = opp adj tan = 20/21 tan = 0.9523809524 so we look up the arc tangent of 0.9523809524 and that's = 43.603 degrees seems you were right!!

OpenStudy (thefluffmuncher):

yay thanks so much :)

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

u r welcome :-)
