Calvin's plane is flying at a speed of 600 miles per hour. If y represents the distance the plane has traveled and z represents the time it has spent traveling, which of the following equations shows the relationship between y and z?
y = 600 + z
z = 600 + y
z = 600y
y = 600z
OpenStudy (zxcvbnm1216):
what is y's unit? is it hours or minutes?
OpenStudy (jeremiahclare):
idk it does not show anything about minutes or hours
OpenStudy (jeremiahclare):

i think its D
OpenStudy (zxcvbnm1216):
If its hour then its y=600z. think of it this way. If you have spent two hours flying. And it goes 600mph then you have travelled 1200mph. If y represents distance than only d works. a would equal 602, b would equal negative number, c would equal a negative number so only d is left
OpenStudy (zxcvbnm1216):
y=600(2)=1200
OpenStudy (jeremiahclare):
ohh cool thxxs
