OpenStudy (director_of_ambush_marketing):

The axis of symmetry for the graph of the function is f(x) = x2 + bx + 10 is x = 6. What is the value of b?

OpenStudy (photon336):

Well here is our axis of symmetry \[\frac{ -b }{ 2a }\] since we know a is 1 we can easily find the b value by doing this \[\frac{ -b }{ 2 } = 6 \] then finding b is simple.
