How to calculate type 1 probability?

OpenStudy (p0sitr0n):

you probably mean type 1 error, because no type 1 probability exists. How you go about it is you take a table (or a software) of the underlying distribution that you assume your data is taken from (student t, normal, F, chi squared, etc) and you look up the test statistic that was given to you.
