14. Read the following lines from "Thoughts of Hanoi." Brother, how is all that now? Or is it obsolete? Are you like me, reliving the past, imagining the future? Do you count me as a friend or am I the enemy in your eyes? Brother, I am afraid that one day I'll be with the March-North Army meeting you on your way to the South. I might be the one to shoot you then or you me but please not with hatred. Which of the following would most likely be the speaker of this poem? (1 point) a. the child of a soldier who is a member of the army in the North b. the friend of a soldier who is a member of the army in the South c. the brother of a man who has fled the army d. a Vietnamese man who fled Hanoi and joined the army in the South
B or d.... idk @lapinblanc
I agree, this one is difficult. Because I was not 100%, I googled an analysis of this poem which I will provide the link below. In the analysis it discusses the fact that the speaker fights for the south. Which makes sense. What was giving me trouble is the wording of the answers. It caused ambiguity regarding whether the person fight for the south was the speaker or the "brother". When reading this analysis, that cleared up. So, B.
And then I forgot to include the link. https://elinvestigadorfilipino2.wordpress.com/2016/02/20/thoughts-of-hanoi-by-nguyen-thi-vinh/
