OpenStudy (angelinaxoxo1):

Explain how you can determine whether two ratios are equivalent.

OpenStudy (abbles):

You could do something called Cross Multiplying. Say you have a fraction (same thing as a ratio) 1/2 and you wanted to know if it was equivalent to 4/8. Multiply the 1 by the 8 and then divide by the 4. If the two ratios are equivalent, the number you end up with should be the same as the denominator of the first function. Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (kinged):

Just simplify.

OpenStudy (peachpi):

reduce the fractions
