match the functions with there inverse function. functions: f(x)=2x-8 f(x)=2x+7 f(x)=7x-2 f(x)=2x+8/3 f(x)=5x+3/2 f(x)=1/x+2 inverse function: f^-1(x)=2x-3/5 f^-1(x)=x+8/2 f^-1(x)=x+2/7 f^-1(x)=1-2x/x

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I'm sure you meant "match the functions with their inverse functions." You'd probably learn the most by actually carrying out the steps of finding inverse functions for each of the last four functions given. Do you know these steps? If so, demo how you would find the inverse function of \[f ^{-1}(x)= \frac{ 1-2x }{ x }\]

OpenStudy (cheynicole2001):

no, im not sure about the steps.

OpenStudy (jh99):

I'm pretty sure you just switch the y and the x. First set f(x) as y, then switch the x and y in the equation and solve
