@Jadeishere
I have to read it, give me a second :)
She shuddered and paused, like a frighted steed. A horse when frightened will freeze but it will twitch and move as the horse gets ready to run, basically, she was terrified. And a whooping billow swept the crew / Like icicles from her deck. When the ships sail gets filled with wind, it billows out, causing the ship to move, thrusting any sailor away from the ship, possibly overboard. She struck where the white and fleecy waves / Looked soft as carded wool. Freshly shaven wool is dirty and clumpy, carded wool is the purified version of it. Thus, it looks soft and white like fleece, almost looking like waves, so instead of the waves looking dangerous, the water hit was gentle and smooth Like a vessel of glass, she stove and sank. To stove (in a ship) is to snap or to smash into something. If a ship was made of glass, it could snap or cave in causing it to sink swiftly
I hope this helps.. :)
Thank you! @Jadeishere
