OpenStudy (puertoricangirl):

if I flip a disc ( white side and gray side ) what is the probability of 20th flip will result in the disc landing on the white side ?

OpenStudy (puertoricangirl):

@agent0smith

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I would say the probability of any particualr flip remains the same whether you flip it 1 or one thousand times.

OpenStudy (puertoricangirl):

is it 50/50 percent chance in each flip

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

It's like flipping a coin. What's the chance of landing heads?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

yes you are correct puertoricangirl

OpenStudy (puertoricangirl):

50

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

But make sure you write it correctly, as either 1/2 or 0.5

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

specifically the probability would'nt be 50

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

probability is always expressed as a number between 0 and 1

OpenStudy (puertoricangirl):

so if there is 20th flip that means is ....... 10/20 ?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

no the probability remains the same for every flip

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Yes 10/20 does equal 1/2 but you'd still want to express it as simply as possible.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

You could say the probability is 137/274 but that is NOT a good way to say it

OpenStudy (kinged):

I would help but you blocked me. Don't tell me you don't need my help.

OpenStudy (puertoricangirl):

yea and I blocked u for a reason...
