please help simplify
Let \[\Large {\color{red}{x = \sqrt{7}}}\] \[\Large {\color{blue}{y = \sqrt{6}}}\] So what we can do is replace every copy of "square root of 7" with x. Also, we can replace every copy of "square root of 6" with y. Like so \[\Large 5*\sqrt{7}+12*\sqrt{6}-10*\sqrt{7}-5*\sqrt{6}\] \[\Large 5*{\color{red}{\sqrt{7}}}+12*{\color{blue}{\sqrt{6}}}-10*{\color{red}{\sqrt{7}}}-5*{\color{blue}{\sqrt{6}}}\] \[\Large 5*{\color{red}{x}}+12*{\color{blue}{y}}-10*{\color{red}{x}}-5*{\color{blue}{y}}\]
Are you able to simplify `5x+12y-10x-5y` ?
hold on a sec.
i get -(5x-7y)
which is the same as -5x+7y if you distribute the negative through
these are the option i have to answer
once we get to -5x+7y, replace x and y with what we defined them to be earlier \[\Large -5{\color{red}{x}} + 7{\color{blue}{y}}\] \[\Large -5{\color{red}{\sqrt{7}}} + 7{\color{blue}{\sqrt{6}}}\]
and i dont see it there
So after combining like terms \[\Large 5*\sqrt{7}+12*\sqrt{6}-10*\sqrt{7}-5*\sqrt{6}\] simplifies to \[\Large -5{\color{black}{\sqrt{7}}} + 7{\color{black}{\sqrt{6}}}\]
is the last part suppossed to be positive because its not part of the answer choices
show your answer choices again please
it is in the attachment file
That file is just the original problem
oh wait
hold on i am having a techncal deficulty
take all the time you need
