An equation is shown below:
3 over 2 multiplied by x plus 7 over 2 equals 2 to the power of x
What is the solution to the equation?
x = 1
x = 3
x = 5

can you use the equation editor (see button in lower left of the input area) to make an equation. It's hard to interpret reading words

this is a difficult equation to solve. but we can "test" each solution and see if any of the choices are the answer.
OpenStudy (phi):
to check x=3, we use 3 instead of x in the equation
\[ \frac{3x}{2} + \frac{7}{2} = 2^x \\ \frac{3\cdot 3}{2} + \frac{7}{2} = 2^3 \]
can you simplify both sides (using arithmetic)?
