can someone help me

OpenStudy (proheiper):

ya

OpenStudy (leahmarieed):

ok hold on

OpenStudy (leahmarieed):

An equation is shown below: 3 over 2 multiplied by x plus 7 over 2 equals 2 to the power of x What is the solution to the equation? x = 1 x = 3 x = 5 x = 8

OpenStudy (proheiper):

OK

OpenStudy (proheiper):

SO~

OpenStudy (proheiper):

I think its 3

OpenStudy (phi):

***3 over 2 multiplied by x plus 7 over 2 equals 2 to the power of x*** can you use the equation editor (see button in lower left of the input area) to make an equation. It's hard to interpret reading words

OpenStudy (leahmarieed):

here i have a pic

OpenStudy (leahmarieed):

OpenStudy (leahmarieed):

@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

this is a difficult equation to solve. but we can "test" each solution and see if any of the choices are the answer.

OpenStudy (phi):

to check x=3, we use 3 instead of x in the equation \[ \frac{3x}{2} + \frac{7}{2} = 2^x \\ \frac{3\cdot 3}{2} + \frac{7}{2} = 2^3 \] can you simplify both sides (using arithmetic)?

OpenStudy (leahmarieed):

nevermind i got the answer
