sammixboo (sammixboo):

Read it outloud. Which choice sounds right?

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

A

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

@Atsie

Atsie (atsie):

Lets study our options here. "Neither the children nor the babysitter ____ how the stain got in the carpet, but they ____ it needs to be cleaned before the parents return" Lets try option A. Neither the children nor the babysitter KNOWS how the stain got in the carpet, but they KNOWS it needs to be cleaned before the parents return Lets try option B. Neither the children nor the babysitter KNOWS how the stain got in the carpet, but they KNOW it needs to be cleaned before the parents return How about C? Neither the children nor the babysitter KNOW how the stain got in the carpet, but they KNOWS it needs to be cleaned before the parents return And option D? Neither the children nor the babysitter KNOW how the stain got in the carpet, but they KNOW it needs to be cleaned before the parents return Look at those closely. Which of them seem close to the correct answer to you? @zarkam21 :))

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

Between D and C

Atsie (atsie):

D is a possibility. But C no. Look at how it reads. Neither the children nor the babysitter KNOW how the stain got in the carpet, but they KNOWS it needs to be cleaned before the parents return "They knows..... ?" That is by no means proper.

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

D?

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

Well D?

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

But is it right?

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

@sammixboo

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Not quite. Try putting 'knows' in the first blank and see how it sounds :)

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

Oh C :)

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Nope. Try flipping around knows and know in that option.

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

B

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Yes, that is what sounds and seems right to me
