Please help on Poetry!

OpenStudy (dancing_stars23):

Read the following poem and identify at least two elements of structure, three elements of sound, and three elements of figurative language. For each element, provide an example from the poem and analyze it. "Wild Nights" by Emily wingspaninson Wild nights! Wild nights! Were I with thee, Wild nights should be Our luxury! Futile the winds To a heart in port,— Done with the compass, Done with the chart. Rowing in Eden! Ah! the sea! Might I but moor To-night in thee!

Can someone walk me through it?

OpenStudy (berryanonymous):

It uses repetition, nature imagery, and biblical allusions. Repetition is fairly easy to spot - in the first paragraph "wild nights" is repeated three times and "done with the" is repeated twice in the second paragraph. Nature imagery is seen with the references to the wind and the sea. They reference Eden, as in the garden of Eden from the Christian bible.

For the elements of sound - it's a stanza. That's the extent of my knowledge on poetry, but this link might be able to help you. It's really discriptive. http://learn.lexiconic.net/elementsofpoetry.htm

Structure, not sound. Whoops!
