Help me please Bert claims that is most cases, the quadratic formula is less tiring to use in solving quadratic equation than the method of completing the square. Is Bert's claim valid?

I'd say yes. Quadratic formula always works and the chance of making an error is somewhat less compared to completing the square.
Is it also in what solving pattern that he like or comfortable with
yes also completing the square is simpler for quadratics with small coefficients like x^2 + x - 7 = 0 but gets more complicated with higher coefficients so an balance i agree with ganeshie
