OpenStudy (cheynicole2001):

What is the range of the function f(x) = 3.2x for the domain {-4, -2, 0, 2, 4}?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Do you know what the domain and range of a function are?

OpenStudy (cheynicole2001):

no, your supposed to find the range.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

I did not ask if you know what the range of this function is. We will work on that together. My question is do you understand what the domain and range of a function are? Do you now the meaning of the terms domain and range when used in connection with a function?

OpenStudy (cheynicole2001):

oh okayy. my bad, yes i know the meaning of the terms "domain", and "range".

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Ok. The domain is given to you . Those given values are all the values x can have. If you evaluate the function at all the given x values, you will find all the possible y values. The set of y values is the range.
