OpenStudy (periodicninja):

The functions f(x) and g(x) are shown below: f(x) = (0.001)x g(x) = 0.001x Which statement best describes the graph of f(x) and g(x)?

OpenStudy (periodicninja):

The answers are a The graph of g(x) will eventually exceed the graph of f(x). b The graph of f(x) will eventually exceed the graph of g(x). c The graphs will both have their y-intercept equal to 1. d The graphs will both have their y-intercept equal to 0.001.

OpenStudy (prathamesh_m):

Aren't they both actually the same?

OpenStudy (periodicninja):

Prathamesh_M thats hat im confused about

OpenStudy (periodicninja):

what

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

I'm sure that one of them should be (0.001)^x while the other is 0.001x. When people copy paste their problems, \(0.001^x \) becomes 0.001x

OpenStudy (periodicninja):

well can you help me then

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

I don't know which equation is which. Also check this out. https://www.desmos.com/calculator/knh1w4bfot

OpenStudy (_citrus_):

I know its not the last two options

OpenStudy (_citrus_):

I think its the second option. The exponential graph is gradually decreasing, while the linear graph, eventhough it is barely increasing, its still is. I dont think I explained it that well, Im not sure how to :l
