I got 360 but that's incorrect
OpenStudy (prathamesh_m):
You need to find the area of the three rectangles and the two triangles.
OpenStudy (pleasehelp2346677):
Do I multiply each face by the height?
OpenStudy (prathamesh_m):
What did you consider as the height of the triangles?

That's where I run into a problem, I'm not sure how to find that
OpenStudy (prathamesh_m):
If you observe closely, it'll be 8 inches since the side of that rectangle will line up alongside the height of the triangle.
OpenStudy (prathamesh_m):
So area of the triangles will be:
0.5 x 15 x 8
Area of the rectangles will be:
17 x 9, 15 x 9 and 8 x 9.
OpenStudy (pleasehelp2346677):
0.5 x 15 x 8 = 80
17 x 9 = 153
15 x 9 = 135
8 x 9 = 72
OpenStudy (pleasehelp2346677):
so do I add all of them to get my answer? @Prathamesh_M

Yes and you add the triangle twice since there are two of them.
OpenStudy (pleasehelp2346677):
so 80 + 80 +153 +135 + 72?
OpenStudy (prathamesh_m):
Yes.
OpenStudy (pleasehelp2346677):
that gives me 520. So there's my answer?
