OpenStudy (periodicninja):

The same amount of trash is dumped into a landfill every day. The function below shows the total number of tons of trash n in the landfill after x days: n = 2000x + 1000 What does the number 2000 represent?

OpenStudy (periodicninja):

a Amount of trash originally in the landfill b Amount of trash added to the landfill every day c Rate at which the total trash increases every day d Rate at which the total trash is recycled every day

OpenStudy (periodicninja):

help someone :(

OpenStudy (anx):

It's a systems of equality question. if n=2000x+1000 where x is equal to time elapsed in days. x just describes the amount of trash 2000 has to be in relationship to the amount started with, or amount added daily. which one makes the most sense to you?

OpenStudy (periodicninja):

@anx b?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

b Amount of trash added to the landfill every day c Rate at which the total trash increases every day not seeing a difference between those two

OpenStudy (periodicninja):

so than its a @agent0smith

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

I didn't imply that at all.

OpenStudy (anx):

2000 just represents a baseline value for the trash.

OpenStudy (periodicninja):

@agent0smith i ruled it out cause of your reply
