well, if you remove anything from the food web, things go horribly wrong :b
The rabbit is a primary consumer. Removing the rabbit removes an energy source for the secondary consumers which in turn removes an energy source for the tertiary consumers.
Right like @sweetburger said, but also try to reason through the answer. Removing the Rabbit will cause a big shift in equilibrium
what about if we remove the jaguar?
Make sure you are understanding what the question is asking, but also understand for yourself what is really going on.
thank you all but what happens we if remove the jaguar?
Well what do you think?
Since the Jaguar is eating a lot of different things on the food web, what can we say reasonably is going to happen if we take away the jaguar?
well i think population of rabbits will increase and thus lead to increase in population of alligator has no effect on animal eating grass amount of grass/ producers would decrease due to large number of rabbits has no effect on number of decomposers since large number of rabbits compensate for removal of jaguar from the food web
These animals are being eaten by the Jaguar, now what happens if we simply take away the jaguar.
??
has no effect on animal eating grass amount of grass/ producers would decrease due to large number of rabbits this statement is a bit confusing, so are you saying grass would increase or decrease
ahh I see what you are saying, grass eater (the picture of the animal) and grass producer. Ok makes sense. I like your answer better now.
@danielannx3 Great, do you understand this better?
