Find all the zeros of the equation. -4x4 - 44x2 + 3600 = 0

OpenStudy (idani):

A. 5, -5, 6i, -6i B. 5, 6i C. 5, -5, 6i, 0 D. -5, -6i

note x^2 = y and rewrite this quartic in y and will get a quadratic what you need solve it for y and when you get these zeros in y just you need make them equal by x^2 and solve it for x and so in this way will get every 4 roots of the given quartic function easy hope this will help you

@jhonyy9 has a good method. As an alternative, you can use your answer options to eliminate the non-answers. If the polynomial has real numbers as coefficients, and one of the roots is imaginary, then the root must have a conjugate pair. For instance if one of the roots is 10i, then the other root must be -10i. So you can eliminate 3 non-answers leaving you with the final answer

OpenStudy (idani):

Thank you both I appreciate it ☺️👍🏻
